I cringe to think of comparing the two. Kushner was never as annoying as Harris ... not to mention that, in my observation and reading of their work, Kushner is massively more intelligent a thinker, a playwright, and far more interested in things beyond himself.
I've seen 3 Harris plays, including Slave Play and Daddy (and another no one has heard of)... I don't think any were very good as plays or writing. He is an interesting figure, but I don't think there's nearly as much there as he wants us to think there is, and he is quite adept and spinning around and creating a cyclone around himself to convince people there is.
I'll be interested to see what he creates going forward, and I will attend, but so far I think he is a far far cry from Kushner on any level. |
