To some, they do. It may be a smaller sub-culture of the gay community though.

One of our most popular and populated gay bars in Chicago, Sidetrack, frequently plays the vid of Happy Days Are Here Again/Get Happy as well as Don't Rain on My Parade from the film Funny Girl. Both clips get enthusiastic response with Parade having a call and response component "Run, Barbra, run" as she heads for the tugboat as well as other lines that the crowd has developed over the years.

The friend I attend with is 32, I'm 60. My younger friend would not know about either of these ladies if it were not for our attendance at Sidetrack. I would guess the same is true for the majority of the crowd who are in there 20s and 30s.

Seeing these clips in a gay bar, may lead younger viewers to research via YouTube, so it can open a door and carry on a tradition.
