| I think Judy Garland will continue to mean something, if only for THE WIZARD OF OZ and possibly some of her other films. Since Barbara Cook didn't have a significant film or television career, I think her memory will dim when those of us lucky enough to have seen her have gone. I mean, musical theatre fans will continue to thrill to her amazing recordings, and I think she'll be a gold standard for cabaret artists, but the average theatre goers, even today, probably wouldn't recognize her name. |
