| I think impressive is a relative team, but the point here is that a lot of people on this board were doubtful he'd fill anywhere near this much of the house, and then after the first week, doubted he would be able to maintain that level of business in weeks 2 and 3. I did some research on the last solo artist to have a multi-week engagement at The Palace: In 1999, Liza filled 'Minnelli on Minnelli' between 53%-84% of capacity. In 2008, for Liza's at the Palace, she sold between 69-94% of capacity. Worth noting she only did 4-5 shows a week (Ben is doing 6) and both her engagements were over the winter holidays, usually a very popular time. So if he's doing business roughly on par with Liza back then at Christmas, then yeah, I'd say that's impressive! |
