Well, that 2012 Broadway revival of ''Evita'' trumpeted casting Elena Roger, an actual Argentinian actress, to play Eva Peron. Ricky Martin, a Puerto Rican actor/singer and pop star, got top billing as Che. But Juan Peron, who claimed Spanish, British and French ancestry, was played by Michael Cerveris.

And if the Whitney Museum were doing a Sondheim showcase now - over 40 years later - I'd like to think that the cast of 8 wouldn't be all-white. ;)
