I didn't mean to imply that 1990 was the ONLY year the Tony telecast included scenes from plays. Other years include 2001 and 2012. For me, however, 1990 was the most memorable on the whole. The ''Lettice and Lovage'' excerpt, starring Maggie Smith, still makes me laugh.
