| I wonder what the demographic breakdown is? There's a generation of young people who spent their teenage years listening and watching him as Evan Hansen and developing a very intimate relationship with that character and, by extension, the actor playing him. Evan/Ben seem vulnerable, sensitive, intelligent and queer and those are mighty attractive qualities for a lot of young people today. I don't know if there are enough of them to fill the Palace for a long time, but in a limited stint I'm not surprised he's drawing a crowd. (Setting aside cynicism about the support he's received from his wealthy family, it can't be denied that the dude can sing.) |
