I think it is like comparing apples and oranges as Hello Dolly's characters were not real people and could have been played by anyone. Gypsy, however, is about real people who were not Black, so that does make a difference. It worked well for Hamilton, though, but those characters are at a much greater remove in history than Gypsy. Regardless of all that, I do, without hesitation, think that Audra will sing and act the hell out of this role.
