| I pray that—just like she reworked her vocal technique for Billie—she's in the studio learning to belt or at least add more muscle to her mix. When she's performed Rose's Turn in concert, the big climactic moments are underpowered as she navigates her passaggio. And since the tessitura of Rose was written for belters, the line never opens up into Audra's glimmering top register which is her money spot. No doubts at all that the acting will be truly revelatory, I just hope the singing is at the same level. |
