So he is doing in a Liza manner and it is a girl's song (introduced by the way by Kaye Ballard). Liza covered it in 1964 on an album and then it was interpolated into the 1972 Fosse movie for Liza.

I've seen Broadway Backwards a few times, so men singing women's songs or vice versa isn't a bit stretch for me.

As for Mr. Platt - he's game and he has a voice. He needs to choose one climax instead of providing four at the end of the song. It's overwrought. He should have worn a bra and lace panties under the wrap, black high heels. Bow in the hair.
But did they ask me??? No...
