Ouch. I agree that these one person theatrical feats are wearing a bit thin. But it’s a theater form that when it works can be magical and for me that usually means if a solo performer has been able to not only create distinct characters but the illusion of other characters on stage with them. And even beyond that shifting illusions of space and place. If the play is an ensemble drama I guess you still have to work with an ensemble on stage even if you are conjuring them out of thin air.
