| Am I remembering correctly that you're a big fan of the show and/or The Who's music in general? If so, wanted your opinion on the performance of the score itself. The audio experience. Too often, I find, a lot of these 70s rock or rock opera scores are performed with an anemic, characterless, dare-I-say emptiness in their revival productions. I feel the same way when I hear revivals of Jesus Christ Superstar, for example. They lose that 70s rock warmth and... verve which I think is so essential to strength of those scores. It's like... Kidz Bop does 70s rock. What is your opinion on this production's success or failure in this regard? The little I heard in some promo videos was not very promising to me... sounded like cruise ship entertainment. |
