He's giving a very entertaining (and, some might say, theatrical) performance in HBO's The Sympathizer right now. It's almost like a one man show with him playing multiple different characters. He does it with panache -- makes me more interested in seeing what he can do on stage. Also, I have to plan a family trip to NY in late September and was afraid nothing of interest would have opened or been in previews by then, so it's great to have this on the shortlist!
