| I agree that the design elements are impressive, although the I wish the elephant were more imposing. The plot did meander, but I was ultimately very emotionally engaged by the characters. I thought the flashbacks were done really well. There was choreography that commented on, and advanced, the narrative. It’s not a great show, and I suppose it helped that I went in without high expectations. But personally I would choose this any day over the snoozefest of the Outsiders which had no character development, too much plot and yet not enough (the brief, underdeveloped relationship between Cherry and Ponyboy made the rest of the story a unconvincing). With the exception of the rumble scene, the choreography was generic. I also didn’t have high expectations but The Outsiders fell short of those. To each his/her/they own I guess. |
