The "angry" audience of around 1,000 people was asked to leave the auditorium and the performance was brought to a halt around an hour later after police removed the activists.
Why is angry in quotes? If the audience was asked to leave, then how was the performance brought to a halt an hour later? It was brought to a halt after the police removed the activists? Or did both actions in the sentence - being asked to leave and bringing the performance to a halt - happen an hour later? But then again, why all of this after the activists were removed?
