NYRB’s rave review of the Met’s new FORZA

There’s plenty I don’t like about The Met’s General Manager, Peter Gelb but he’s to be commended here for sticking with the Polish director Marius Trelinski after his almost universally panned TRISTAN (which I liked very much). The New York Review of Book’s reviewer Geoffrey O’Brian lays out in detail why Trelinski’s new production of Verdi’s rarely performed FORZA is particularly brilliant.
