This happened to a dear friend of mine. Schreiber's incident was comparatively mild. My friend's TGA lasted about six hours, during which she could not recall the events of the preceding month (further back was okay). We, too, were afraid it was a stroke. We took her to the ER, where we got the same explanation as Schreiber. Also her short term memory reset itself every twenty minutes or so.
