I liked this piece and I mostly like Lila's direction, but I got a good laugh from the two opposing quotes:
"Lila doesn't rely on director tricks, like doing KING LEAR on Mars."
vs.
"Lila says this new Chekhov will take place in a futuristic America ... who knows what the gun laws are like in the future?"
lol. still excited for VANYA. let directors have their bag of tricks, I say. it's up to us to decide if they work or not. |
