For Encores! he directed Where's Charley? using the full original orchestration, or at least something as close to it as Encores! could obtain. It's certainly comedy, albeit full-out farce, and he doesn't seem to have destroyed it. He also directed Irma la Douce and Pump Boys and Dinettes for them, but of course the former had a smallish orchestra originally and the latter is a show where the actors have always played the instruments. He also directed A Bed and a Chair for Encores! and that had a pretty big orchestra.

For opera companies, he has directed Peter Grimes and The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, of course using the full orchestration in both cases, with the orchestras in the pit, and perhaps he has other opera credits I'm not remembering. The Peter Grimes was widely considered a terrible production.

I don't know if you would count The Visit and A Catered Affair, productions with fairly small but not reduced orchestras.
