Although I'm not convinced it's the case, I wouldn't mind £30 day seats if the actors were seeing a bit of it. The salaries London stage actors make- even in the West End- are criminal.
Last year I did manage to walk up to the box office a couple of hours before at both the National and Soho Place and get £15-20 rush seats for PHAEDRA with Janet McTeer and MEDEA with Sophie Okonedo and Ben Daniels. Best seats in the house and no line-ups.
And I notice that the rush seats on TodayTix are much easier to get in London than NYC.
Anecdotal but nevertheless my recent experience. |
