Some of those passed right by me. I think I was listening that closely. I did catch the big 60 Minutes error, but promptly forgot about it.
On the other hand, I sure as hell noticed when Capote said that Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was playing at the Paris. Uh-uh, and no even moderately informed New York moviegoer at that time would ever have thought that movie would play at that theatre, which showed art films, foreign films, highbrow films pretty much exclusively. When Chitty Chitty opened its New York run at Loew's State II, Romeo and Juliet had been playing for 11 weeks or so at the Paris. When Chitty Chitty closed at Loew's State II and went to the neighborhoods, Romeo and Juliet was still at the Paris. |
