Great report! Thank you so much for posting.

I agree with you about Merrily: It was heaven on earth from start to finish. It’s too bad you missed Mendez, but I’ve only heard wonderful things about Jamila Sabares-Klemm. Aside from the deservedly praised Groff and Mendez, Daniel Radcliffe was equally impressive. His “Franklin Shepard, Inc.” was flawless and so was his “Good Thing Going.”

I saw Sweeney Todd on the same trip and absolutely loved it. I sadly missed Gaten Matarazzo as Toby and Nicholas Christopher as Pirelli. That said, Felix Torrez-Ponce was a very moving Toby. He totally nailed “Not While I’m Around.” I was wowed by Josh Groban’s voice AND acting, but I agree with you that Annaleigh Ashford oversold some of the comedy. Last but not least, the sound from the orchestra was just ravishing. I’m hoping to see Sweeney again in the spring, hopefully with Christopher as Sweeney.

Did you see Daniel Marconi as Toby? If so, how was he in the role?
