I've seen Jenna Coker-Jones in a number of local productions of musicals. She's played ensemble and featured roles at Paramount (Legally Blonde, The Producers). I've also seen her in more substantial supporting parts at Mercury (Amy in Company) and at the Marriott (Miss Shields in A Christmas Story). She's a fine performer and certainly has been getting a lot of work in recent years.

I saw the pre-Broadway production of Boop! on Sunday evening. It's in early previews and very uneven, but almost everyone on ATC and BWW has praised the performance of Jasmine Amy Rogers in the title role. The character of Betty Boop was created by the renowned African-American artist Esther Jones, but as was often the case in the 1930's, white artists like Helen Kane, Mae Questel, and others co-opted the iconic figure, when it was introduced in cartoon shorts. As such, I don't see Coker-Jones as a good fit for this iteration of the Betty Boop story.
