It played in rep with Clifford Williams's production of The Comedy of Errors. Brook complained publicly about the awful acoustics at the New York State Theatre. There actually were floor mikes, but a thrust was added to the regular stage, and the mikes were often behind the actors. Audience members complained of having trouble hearing the actors.
