There is a really heartwarming story about one of the auctions told by the writer John Podhoretz on The Service Formerly Known As Twitter. This was after the first ever performance as Mary by Sherz Aletaha, the second understudy who is having her Broadway debut with this show, so this was her first ever Broadway appearance as a Lead or Featured performer. The tweets are about halfway down the page at the link (Post #164).

Sherz Aletaha played Lalume, the female lead, in Kismet in Oct 2021. It was the first show I saw after the start of COVID. She's an excellent performer, and I'm sure she was wonderful in the role.
