I've always thought Sondheim sought to top that with "imperturbable perspicacity" in Anyone Can Whistle.

I've always thought that "imperturbable perspicacity" (as sung by a woman who is pretending to be a native French speaker, after all) was a wry in-joke, Sondheim's knowing answer to his own misgivings about his lyrics for a certain Puertorican girl with an "alarming" and "charming" command of English lol.

And of course Hapgood responds later by singing that he likes her ('ow you say) unmistakable authenticity. ;-)
