Hi, hanon. Thank you so much for your contributions to this board.

I just want to mention that while Suskin in The Sound of Broadway Music wrote that Morgan Lewis (who was the rehearsal pianist) wrote the ballet music for Oklahoma!, de Mille, in a 1979 interview for Cue magazine, remembered Robert Russell Bennett writing the music. I think additional evidence that Bennett wrote it has shown up in recent years, although I'm blanking right now on the specifics.

I agree that the dance arrangers should always be credited on these recordings. It has annoyed me that the JAY recordings of classic scores have rarely if ever credited the dance and vocal arrangers.

In the case of Oklahoma! it may be that Chandos and Wilson do not credit anyone because there may still be some uncertainty about it. I would think that Wilson would think it important to give credit, although I could be wrong.

EDIT: And now that I've posted that, I'm really not sure that we have anything more than de Mille's perhaps inaccurate memory that Bennett wrote the ballet music.
