that's a good question that, perhaps oddly, I had not thought about. I suppose giving no award would not have surprised me. I think Illinoise would not have surprised me.
I am surprised that Here We Are received only one third-place vote and nothing else.
As for the membership, I would not be able to identify most of the current members' print or internet employer or publisher, but I suppose that is partly because I don't follow things as I used to. I realized looking at the list of members just now that I am a bit surprised at Elisabeth Vincentelli's membership. I realize she is a free-lancer, but I associate her primarily with the Times nowadays. It seems odd that a free-lancer is a member, but it is a different world than in the past. And it's also a bit surprising to me that the Times continues to employ her if she is a member. |
