Olivier did a brief tour and then a brief return engagement on Broadway. The original production played at the St. James and Royale Theaters from October 1960 to March 1961 with Olivier as Becket. The return engagement played the Hudson Theater in May 1961 for just a few weeks, Olivier played Henry II with Kennedy as Becket but the production and the rest of the cast were the same.
