| It is a great Vegas show, fun and energetic, a concert more than a musical.. There is an audience for these shows, think of Mamma Mia . But it lacks the distinction of a Jersey Boys which decorated a story with past hit songs from their repertoire. Juke box junkies will love to dance in the aisles to their favorite hits from their long forgotten youth. But a book musical? No. That said, it will tour well and please non-discriminating audiences, and probably make a profit. Not unlike Jamaica with Lena Horne, or Mr. wonderful with Sammy Davis Jr. Broadway has always had these kinds of shows. |
