Two from 1960 should suffice for now: Tammy Grimes being nominated (and winning) for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for "The Unsinkable Molly Brown". If she was supporting/featured, who was the star? Also that year, Dick Van Dyke was nominated and won for Best Featured Actor for a clearly lead performance as Albert in "Bye Bye Birdie". This was probably because of rules for being billed below the title, but it just defies common sense sometimes. It's not clear if they would have won if they had been nominated for Lead (Elizabeth Seal for "Irma La Douce" and Richard Burton for "Camelot" won that year), but they really weren't nominated in the correct categories.
