I would think the first two or three rows would be too close. A lot happens in the recording booth upstage and the console and other set elements could potentially block views. I was in Row P of the orchestra and the view was perfect. (I was in P2 on the house right aisle and the blessed leg room was welcome due to the running time, but the play is spectacular.)
