Act two of an enemy of the people is a true coup de theatre

As a former English teacher, I certainly was familiar with the play and did want to see this production, but I was not ready to be so overwhelmed by the Townhall meeting scene. The dramatization of the destruction of Dr. Stockmann left me weeping. If you haven’t seen it, you must see it so I won’t describe the scene. His final words to his daughter, saying that perhaps in 50 years when they are both gone, people will realize that they were right just chilled me. Personally, I would give them every Tony that received a nomination. I was not the only one who yelled, bravo at the end. It certainly put a cap On my Broadway. Theater season.. I wept for the character. but now I weep for our society, because those who deny the truth are doomed.
