To the second question, here are a few:
Audra McDonald - 4 nominations in a row for the first 4 Broadway shows she opened. Her streak was broken by Henry IV but that same season she was nominated (and won) for A Raisin in the Sun. Shuffle Along is the only other show she's opened for which she didn't receive a nomination.
Andrea Martin - Nominated for the first 4 shows she opened.
Jane Alexander - Nominated for the first 3 shows she opened.
Jason Robards, Jr. - Nominated for the first 3 shows he opened.
Also, Kelli O'Hara has now joined Chita Rivera as the only performers to have been nominated for 8 shows in a row. |
