| When I saw your thread I got all excited at the thought that there was a lost film as such. Of course, I'd of seen it by now if there had been, oh well. As far as Follies is concerned, it's a wonderful premise and the score is glorious. As far as the book, judging from the revival from what, 10 or 15 years ago? I found it often cringe worthy, filled with bitter characters I had no interest in with a narrative minus a through line. Unless someone completely rewrites the book, it should just be a sung affair, only the score. I am probably in the minority in my opinion. |
