Not exactly. There are a series of scenes all in a recording studio, but the time frame is something like a year. The story is the creation of a new album by a rock band. The completed album evolves through a battle of egos over creative control, drug use, sexual complications, emotional abuse of women, and stuff like that.

I saw the show on 4/3/2024 and found it to be absorbing, even fascinating. It is somewhat reminiscent of the documentary about recording the 1970 Company cast album with all the drama over Elaine Stritch's exhaustion when she had to deliver the definitive performance of "The Ladies Who Lunch".
