I listened to the audiobook through Libby, the free app my library uses. I routinely listen to lengthy books with zero impact on my several-years-old phone's performance.
I'm not sure where you're located, but most libraries offer audiobooks for no charge. Of course the NYPL is included.
(I will also admit to drastically speeding up the playback of Barbra's wonderful book, which I found insufferably slow at 1X. It made for interesting listening to the musical interludes at the end of many chapters when I didn't switch it back, lol. Alvin, Alvin ... ) |
