Best Radio City seats for a quick escape?
Posted by: vegas 03:53 pm EST 12/25/15

Happy Holidays to everyone.

Where should I sit for a quick escape at the end of the Christmas Spectacular? I'm going to the 11 am show and need to be at the Abron Arts Center for the 2 pm matinee of Once Upon a Mattress. IIRC, it's quite a mob scene trying to exit the Music Hall. Right now I'm looking at Row WW section 6, because there appears to be an access aisle directly in front, and I'm guessing that aisle will take me quickly to a side exit. (Is there one? Or will I just be standing in a long line to get back to the main lobby? If so, that won't help me at all.) For the same price, I could get a more central seat on the aisle in Section 5 much further to the rear, and use the rear exit instead. I would appreciate any suggestions. The time saved will help me get a snack and a bathroom break!

You'll be out the door no later than 12:30pm. It's a 15 minute ride or less on the F train to East Broadway. You'll be at the Abrons Arts Center over an hour early!!!!

Thanks, summertheater. But doesn't the show end at 12:30? And won't I be stuck in a huge crowd crawling toward the exits?

Getting out of Radio City will not be a big problem. Getting to the F train at Rockefeller Center will not be a problem.
You should be exiting the subway at 1:15 or so. But getting from the subway to the Abrons Arts Center is a hike. Stop at the Donut Plant on Grand Street on the way for a treat. You've earned it. FYI: leaving the show grab the M14 bus just to the right of the theater on Grand/Pitt Street, and it will take you up to 14th Street and every subway or bus you are looking to connect to.
