When I read that the last revival of FOR (Molina) began in 2004, I am amazed at how quickly a decade passes at my age.

One of the issues I have with Teachout's review is that he says openly that he liked the 2004 revival. But I don't recall that being a popular opinion. So, while many people have been waiting patiently for another revival, he's more able to question if an other revival "so soon" was needed.

His comment about transpositions is also a bit odd. Both "Sunrise Sunset" and "Do You Love Me" have been moved downward, but Burstein sings everything else in the original score keys, so this was clearly done for Hecht, not for him. If he feels the resulting sound is too low, ok - but he shouldn't be implicating that Burstein couldn't sing the songs higher. And for that matter, it's interesting that he doesn't comment on "Miracle of Miracles" and "Now I Have Everything" which are both higher than the original. (To me, he's feeding into the misbegotten stigma, even subconsciously, that transposing downwards is a demerit to the performer.)
