"Lazarus" tonight (Spoilers)

Really? Is this the best that the NYTW, David Bowie, Edna Walsh, and Ivo van Hove can come up with?

Completely fine performances but this play is a non-event. Barely any plot. Zero characterizations. To call this "vague" or "abstract" would be a gross exaggeration.

I don't need a linear plot as long as the play is captivating, and wow oh wow this play is not. The new orchestrations sap the music of their energy. The aimless direction doesn't elevate the banal text.

The supporting characters were annoying. Irritating. The design was bland.

And why is this play "American Psycho" meets "The Lovely Bones?" What?

Complete waste of a night (and not a small amount of money).

The entire time I wish I was rewatching Hall do 'Hedwig.' Now that was a good goddamn show.
