| His first time in the role. Both Lin-Manuel and Javier are sick. | |

| I read an interview with Munoz that suggested Rua wasn't ready as late as October. Of course "ready" is a relative term. I'm sure he was drilled and prepared this afternoon. One would imagine that anyone hand-picked by Miranda has the requisite skill set, and then some. I haven't heard reports, but I wonder if the disappointment in the house was palpable? Or anyone sought a return (impossible to book, needless to say). | |

| Of course, October was also two months ago. Plenty of time for him to get ready without a fire drill yesterday afternoon. | |

| Well since Miranda doesn't usually do Sunday matinee anyway, would they be that disappointed that the real understudy is doing the show? | |

| I was at the matinee, and I didnt feel anything remotely like disappointment. Rua was solid, and I imagine he'll grow into it. The best part was the rest of the cast seemed to be rallying around their new leading man and I found them even better than the last time they saw it-- to the point that Jonathan Groff got Leslie Odom to crack up near the end of the show. Well done, Jon! | |

| Kind of thrilling to hear. On several levels. It's great for Mr. Rua, of course; and it's wonderful to hear how the company upped their already proven A game to make his shine. And it's terrific, long-range news about "Hamilton" the show, once again demonstrating how the material and role stretch, and suggests that many terrific actors will tear in this role and make it their own. This was inevitable, but the news is all good. | |
