I saw The Outsiders this week and thought it was a mixed bag. But I’ve been listening to the three song digital release and Stay Gold is a winner. Strip out the dialogue and it can be released as popular single. It feels like the kind of song that can outlive the show regardless of how long it runs or how many Tonys it wins - kind of like “Falling Slowly” from the movie (and later musical) Once or “Seasons of Love” from Rent.
I like it so much it’s softening my opinion of the show. |
