until "& Juliet" - no. But my collegiate musical theatre students do tend to struggle with what we tend to call "Golden Age" shows, which were largely the dominion of straight white men. So the "absurd and false narrative" does have some truth in it. And if shows like Lempicka are going to get labelled "woke" AND their failure blamed on that label, we're no better off than we were back in the 1940's.
